State of the Glitch July 2020

It’s been a while since the last update on the web, and in truth not a lot has happened in the last six months, besides a few new Duel maps.
The main reasons for the lack of updates are the splitting of the public (stable) game and the dev branch. I decided that the game needed to properly optimised. It now runs much better, but in order to get there I had to redo a lot of functionality and some is still not working (game modes hoony and ctb).
However, the dev build is running fantastically for DM, Duel and TDM, albeit without spec. I’ve put in for an epic grant and that should allow me to get some professional help (programmatic, not psychiatric, for now) with moving to epic online services to have a better online experience. For now, it works, and I’m focussed on getting the modes up and running again and arting up the maps.
Much has been tweaked though. Movement is better than ever. Scale has been slightly changed so the game’s a bit floatier in line with other afps titles I admire. Not that they are benchmarks, I just appreciate the smooth movement of QC, for example, and it’s very low gravity.
